Merino Compact is a solid grade, load bearing laminate. It has an inner core of celluloid fibers impregnated with thermosetting resins which are resistant to atmospheric and chemical agents. It provides superior mechanical properties to impact resistance and can be applied in both horizontal and vertical surfaces.

Merino compact laminates are manufactured in various thicknesses, adequate to eliminate the use of a substrate, and are useful where flat and free-standing panels are required for decorative purposes.

Compacts are usually used for furniture, partitions, cubicles, paneling, transportation vehicles and areas with a higher cleaning  and hygiene requirements. They are ideal for kitchen-tops, doors, food court furniture, table-tops, office, laboratory work-tops, various counter-tops such as front desks, office partitions and wall panels, wall and floor decoration material, material for interior decor and can also be used as a protective screen against damp, frost, rain, sunlight and termites.

Some other uses are: switch boards, railway compartments, washroom partitions, washroom lockers and strips for decorative purposes.

Merino compacts are also particularly well suited for wet area applications such as shower cubicles or swimming pool lockers, but are not recommended for applications involving long-term immersions.

Our compacts are resistant to water, moisture, stain, graffiti, bacterial growth, scratch, impact, fire, cigarette burns, colour change, frost, heat, and organic solvents.

They provide good dimensional stability and flatness and has a self-supporting function and is easy to install, space saving and easy to process.

Compact surfaces are non-corrosive, easy to clean and meets the most stringent hygiene requirements as surface edges can be easily disinfected. They also have a low electrostatic charge-up, is Greenguard Certified  and has low smoke emissions in case of fire.
